The term w00t is a slang interjection used to express happiness or excitement, usually over the Internet. The expression is most popular on forums, USENET posts, multiplayer computer games (especially first person shooters), IRC chats, and instant messages, though use on the World Wide Web is by no means uncommon.
So there you have it.....in case you, too, were wondering. And what, you might ask, does this have to do with Lyme Disease?
Well.....I got great news from my LLMD (Lyme-literate medical doctor) yesterday. Woot, woot! Because I've been feeling good for a couple of months, with no herxheimer reactions, he is going to start to taper my meds. I should be off antibiotics by the end of the year. Such fantastic news!
This news does bring with it a bit of worry, though, as I do have a natural concern about whether I will eventually relapse. For now, I must try not to let my thoughts go there. I need to remind myself that many people are treated successfully and do go into remission. I need to keep my thoughts positive, because the thought of returning to that horrible, dark place of a year and a half ago, is nothing short of frightening. And I just don't want to live in fear.
So for now, I'm going to enjoy this good news, and try very hard to keep my mind filled with good thoughts.
Woot!
